SoundOnSight
multimedia design, content creation, and social media management
SoundOnSight is a Bay Area media collective built around a simple but urgent idea: tell the stories that matter most to the communities they come from, without sensationalism.
The collective was founded by Christopher Alam, a journalist with American Community Media, and is wholly produced, distributed, and promoted by our core crew of seven. We are creatives with cameras, laptops, and a genuine investment in the stories we tell. No budget, no institutional backing, just pure passion behind each project.
Since our launch in November 2025, we've grown to over 100 followers and generated 40,000+ views across Instagram, Bluesky, TikTok, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.

My role lives at the intersection of design, video, and storytelling. I design and coordinate visual assets across all of our platforms, ensuring brand consistency across logo usage, color schemes, typography, and captions. I've also filmed, edited, and reported several pieces myself, diving into new territory with every story and alongside an awesome crew.
Visually, we work within branding established by Denis Maklin, but the creative direction has evolved into something grittier, built for the texture of on-the-ground journalism. The throughline in my design work is the use of blur and noise to create motion, pulling the cityscape out of focus and centering the people we're there to cover. The city is the backdrop. The people are the story.
